In late March, Gurtam team is leaving for Germany to take part in CeBIT 2017 which will mark our seventh consecutive year attending the ICT trade show. The annual event is taking place from March 20 to March 24 at Deutsche Messe in Hannover, Germany. In the exhibition halls, 3000 companies from 70 nations will present real-life application scenarios, and a small army of startups will profile their disruptive business models.
It’s been one year since we launched the new Gurtam office in Dubai. Before we start celebrating the anniversary, let’s look back and remember those efforts done in 2016 for strengthening Wialon positions in the Middle East: new ambitious integrators in the Gulf Wialon community, the unique opportunity for Gurtam employees to try hand in the art of sales in Dubai, a lot of challenging projects implemented, participation in major local industry events, release of solutions designed for the local market – we’ve done our best to build trust in Wialon throughout the Arabian Peninsula. In just one year!
The new year starts with new enhancements. We’re happy to announce that Logistics order management service has been greatly improved! Gurtam released the service a year ago, and since then Logistics has become very popular among Wialon users. We considered all your reviews and suggestions left on Gurtam forum and implemented the best ones in the new service version. Let us introduce Logistics 1.8.
January has been very productive for us in terms of advancing Wialon GPS tracking and fleet management system. Gurtam developers have been continuously working upon new Wialon Hosting features, and it’s high time we shared the results. Probably, many of you have already tested the new functionality in Wialon Hosting beta-version. We’d like to thank active and involved Wialon users for their feedback which helped us update the stable Wialon Hosting version with really in-demand and thoroughly tested features. Let us introduce Wialon Hosting 1701.
In March Gurtam is heading for Mexico to participate in Expo Seguridad Mexico – the largest exhibition in the area of Industrial Safety and Occupational Health. Participating in the event for the 3rd time, we’re focused on continuing to provide partners in the region with the best platform to help them effectively compete in GPS tracking and fleet management space. Due to establishing the new office in Latin America, we’ll ensure our local clients get as much support and attention as they need to effectively deliver Wialon-based telematics solutions to their end-user customers.
Сonsidering the positive dynamics in the region, opening the new Gurtam office in Argentina and the vast number of partners in Latin America, we decided to hold the 2nd partner event in Mexico City the day before Expo Seguridad.
The value of public transport for any state can hardly be overestimated. Constant route network monitoring, traffic flow tracking and routes update to assure high-level transportation service – these are priority measures for public transportation improvement. The sphere of public transportation demands precise control of transport performance and its specific parameters which are often not provided by the functionality of an average fleet management system. What’s more, a range of parameters to control is defined by local regulations and requirements.
Several years ago our partner from Kazakhstan – KazIntersoft – came up with public transport management and reporting system, developed on the basis of Wialon SDK.
Last days were quite intense for us with all eyes fixed on Wialon units counter since we were in expectation of 1 000 000th unit. Boston, Moscow, Dubai and Minsk offices had no sleep, looking forward to seeing the coveted figure. The wait is over – today the Wialon system has got its 1 000 000th unit connected!
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6 in 10 people with dementia will wander. The disorientation, caused by the disease, makes even familiar surroundings become unfamiliar, causing people to wander and get into dangerous situations that can lead to serious injury or death. Searching for people suffering from dementia or other conditions affecting their cognitive abilities is especially challenging. Unlike with a missing child, they often don’t comprehend that they are lost and won’t ask for help or respond to someone calling their name. They also sometimes take shelter in out-of-the-way places and, in tragic cases, are found dead just meters from their homes.
There are many methods and services one can use to keep the loved ones with Alzheimer safe, but tracking technology is becoming an increasingly popular option for caregivers. And we’re extremely glad our partner GPSER from Sweden is involved in such important projects.
Machine utilization (i.e. the effectiveness of machinery usage) is an important concept because if vehicles and machinery are not being used correctly and efficiently, operating costs are higher than they should be. Situations regularly occur when drivers leave machinery engines running without the machinery actually working (idling). Machinery is often operated without consideration of its efficient usage (excessive time taken to warm up engine, needless stop/starting, etc.) Also, machinery is repeatedly left standing at one workplace with little or no performance though it could be more effectively used somewhere else.
Keeping your tires properly inflated and aligned saves fuel by reducing the amount of drag your engine must overcome. To detect under-inflated tires, you can use a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) in your vehicle which informs a driver of any deviations in tire pressure. Yet the information on tire pressure is also vital for dispatchers, fleet owners, security department managers, etc.
To solve the issue, our partner KazInterSoft released an application Tire Pressure which allows for remote tire pressure control.
